December Scrap the Girls DT

The end of the year is so close and here is my last post for Scrap the Girls. - A Christmas inspired layout.

My layout was inspired by the colour pallete from the Mood board.

The layout began by applying Gelato's in pink and Red acrylic paint. I also stamped images using black Momento ink.

I then layered my photo on fabric and cardstock and added flowers, die cuts, veneers and other embellishments.

I also heat embellished a Dusty Attic chipboard in Chestnut colored embossing powder.

that's it!

cheers!

Merry Christmas

Scrap the girls DT November

This month, a sketch is the inspiration- stars and circles. Here is my take:

Here is the sketch:

I made this layout by first using Nuvo paste through a stencil. I also heat embossed chipboard (RW lasercuts) with Allure Charred gold embossing powder. Must be pretty charred as it didnt look gold at all!
I left the Dusty Attic clockface without embossing, as I did the Kaisercraft veneers.
I stamped Altenew flowers on Vellum and cut.

I layered the vellum flowers, some cardstock that I distressed the edges and inked, under my photo, then added the remainder of the embellishments. I dropped Holcroft Metallic Rich gold India Ink over my layout for added sparkle. Here are some further close ups.

This months scrap challenge is Boo Bees! Well I went for the bee theme with this nature inspired layout.

And here's what inspired me:

I made this layout by first stenciling the background using modelling paste. i then sprayed using a Kaisercraft spray.

I then fussy cut flowers and leaves from Graphic 45 French Country papers.
I layered these with die cuts
I also used a Dusty Attic chipboard which I covered in texture paste and colored.
My title BeeUtiful was cut and covered in Glossy Accents.
The final touch was bees from my collection and Nuvo drops in black and yellow.
cheers!

Scrap the girls DT September

This month Scrap the Girls have embraced "Painty Hands". So of course I couldnt resist scrapbooking a photo of a painting I have recently completed. This painting is titled Green Paint. Here is my layout-

And here is the inspiration for the layout

My layout was first made by preparing the background. I used an offcut of watercolour paper I had previously applied Brusho's (watercolour pigment powder). I then used acrylic paint on my 12 x 12 inch cardstock.

I embossed some Grunge board to add as embellishment.

I then added some wonderful stamped leaves (made by my fried Donna- thank you!). I also added Prills, some banners a note and the layout complete.

Amazing what you can do with a little paint!

Cheers!

Scrap the Girls August DT

This month, Scrap the Girls are providing the theme, "Open your heart" as inspiration. I literally took the tree as inspiration for my layout this month. Here it is-

To accentuate the tree, I used foliage die cuts. I also used coconut fibre and ribbon to provide an organic look. The background paper didn't need additional work as it provided the perfect detail.
Here's how the layout looked as I arranged embellishments.

Here are some close up shots. Gold ink was used over the layered embellishments to match detailing in the background card.

Scrap the Girls DT July

Well its a very sweet month, with a sweet layout to give us inspiration. Here's my take:

Not hard to see where the inspiration came from!

Colors, and theme were perfect for my photo of this girl and her pancakes.

While I splashed a bit of paint around on the background, I cut up pictures from an old Golden book I had lying around.

I used dies to cut cardstock and added a few colored embellishments.- Page done!

Here's a couple of close ups:

Scrap the Girls DT June

This month we have a great page layout to give us inspiration. Here's my take on it.

Here's the page layout.

As you can see, I used the basic layout and rotated it so that my banners are horizontal rather than vertical. I have also used the two photos but have added a number of embellishments to add interest.

Here's a few close ups.

I have used Kaisercraft cardstock and added some stamping (Coco Vanilla stamps) and others. Chipboard is inked Dusty Attic. I have also made die cuts (Memory box) and layered with flowers made by my lovely friend, Donna. I couldn't resist the tuchan  and I completed the layout with prills.

Find the challenge here.

Cheers!
